Everyone
remembers the smile on a child's face when Christmas presents
are opened. Unfortunately that smile may not happen for a lot of
local children this year because parents do not have the money for
presents. The Corozal Town Council is in no better shape than many of
the local people. Still they are moving ahead with the holiday celebrations
they do each year. There will be the tree lighting on 5 December as well
as the Children's Christmas Party on 20 December where Santa will appear.
For many children the gifts at this party will be the only ones they
receive this year.
To make sure there are smiles on children's faces this year, a fund has been started for the Town Council to buy gifts for the children. The fund is called Create-A-Smile. The fund currently has $200 in it and there is a goal of $500. If you would like to contribute, Judy Yablonski is collecting it. You can contact her at . She will turn in all money collected on 10 December.
Also, you may put your contribution in an envelope and mark it Create-A-Smile and give it to Aaron Babb, Deputy Mayor, at the Town Hall.
Everyone is encouraged to give back to the community in a way that will touch all hearts.
Happy Holidays!
