Corozal Culture
Here is some of the culture of the Corozal District of Belize.
We are beginning a section on
the very active Corozal Public Library. Here is the beginning of this section.
In May, 2000 there was an art exhibit in Corozal called
Art for the People.
On 15 April, 2000, the Belchoral Society of Belmopan
offered an uplifting and inspiring reportorie of songs at St. Paul's Anglican Church by the Sea.
Sarteneja Village, in the Shipstern Peninsula of Corozal District, is famous for its fishing
and boatbuilding
The International Costa Maya Festival offered a sample of the
festival in Corozal in 1998 to encourage appreciation of Corozal's Maya heritage.
On 16 September 1997, Corozal's own Elvi Vega won the Miss Belize
Contest. Here are pictures of her and her trip to the Miss Universe pageant.
The Mestizo culture is the mixture of Europeans (Spanish) and
Indian (Amerindian) ancestry. This explores the Mestizo culture.
