Welcome to the official website for the people, culture, Mayan archaeology, attractions, schools, and other things in the Corozal District of Belize.
If you have been hearing about the US beginning Daylight Savings Time this weekend, you might think Chetumal will change also. But only some Mexican cities/towns that share a border with the US will change now. The rest of Mexico, including Chetumal, will NOT change to Daylight Savings Time until 2 AM on Sunday, 4 April 2010.
Belize, of course, keeps Central Standard Time year-round.

The members of the Corozal Community College of 1991 are trying to get in touch with everyone as they plan for their 20th Year Reunion in 2011. They have a website where all the 130 graduates are listed. Those who have signed in have given updates of where they are and what they are doing. You can go and find out who is where, and if you are a member, join and add your information. They are being hosted on a website called classcreator.com, and you can find the link for CCC here.

— Jude Budna and Aaron Babb - Corozal Town CouncilNICH brought a team of people with the Jade Head and other artifacts to Corozal on March 2, 2010.
The Jade Head is such an icon of Belize that it appears on the face of each denomination of paper money, right there with Her Majesty, The Queen! It's in the upper left corner.
A number of school classes as well as people of Corozal had the priviledge of viewing and hearing about the most significant Mayan discovery of Belize. Representatives of NICH were on hand to organize the viewing and give relevant talks to those attending. Corozal's own Darcy Correa, a CCC and CJC graduate talked all day long enlightening those who came. It was a great day for the town.
Here is where you can find more information about the Jade Head.
