Wed 21 Mar 2018 By the 22nd of April, 2019, businesses in Belize must phase out single-use plastic bags shopping bags, styrofoam cups and other containers, food utensils, and similar items. There are already biodegradable plant-based replacement products on the market.
This is very good news for anyone concerned with long-term effects on waste management, waterways, marine animals, and even the tourism industry.

The two major parties, PUP (blue) and UDP (red) were out in force when Corozaleños went to vote today, March 7th, 2018.
Here is a small album of photos from the election PermalinkFri 2 Mar 2018 On March 1, 2018, a ceremony inaugurated the new solar water supply upgrade for the Village of San Victor, Corozal District. The funds coming from the Government of Belize and the Caribbean Development Bank amounted to over 830,000 BZD.
This means that the availability and supply of safe water for over 200 homes, schools and churches will contribute significantly in the reduction of incidences of water-borne, food-borne, vector-borne and communicable diseases among men, women and children, thus improving the wellness and quality of life and health of residents and visitors in San Victor, and by extension, the people of Belize. Here is the location of San Victor Village
